WTTC forecasts El Salvador will lead Latin America in tourism growth in 2024

El Salvador is the destination of Latin America that will grow the most in the first half of 2024 as a tourist destination, according to the forecasts of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

The WTTC estimates that El Salvador will increase by 157% in its tourism-related activities. It is followed by Nicaragua, with 15 points less, and then Guatemala, in a distant third place, with 52%.

While Honduras will grow by 49%, Costa Rica 35%, Mexico 31% and Colombia with 24%.

For its part, the Government is implementing investments to improve the tourist infrastructure, have adequate staff to serve the visitor and to maintain the optimal conditions of citizen security.

The WTTC is a private entity, which analyzes statistics and raises possible scenarios for tourism.
