Venezuela’s president, Nicolas Maduro, reaffirmed Wednesday his commitment to the BRICS principles, highlighting the role his country can play in building a multipolar and multicenter world.
During a meeting he had with Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, in Kazan, Russia, Maduro emphasized that Venezuela is aligned with the global balance, a vision inherited from Simon Bolivar.
“Venezuela is on the path of BRICS, of the balance of the world,” said Maduro, who also thanked Putin for the invitation to this summit.
He stressed that, in his view, the summit represents a great message of hope for humanity, stressing the importance of continuing to receive Russian investment and strengthening trade between the two countries.
Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez thanked Putin for her support for Venezuela so that the South American country strengthen ties with the BRICS group, stressing that with its immense energy reserves, Venezuela will make a great contribution to the BRICS in the construction of a new international economic order.
Rodriguez emphasized that Venezuela’s historical principles coincide with the values that inspire the bloc for the creation of a world without hegemonism.
For his part, Putin reiterated his support for Venezuela to deepen ties with BRICS.
