The factory will be built in the district of San Luis Talpa, La Paz Oeste.

Enerwire will invest more than $50 million in the construction of a plant to manufacture electric conductors, the Ministry of Economy (Minec) reported Wednesday.

Minec indicated that the plant will be built in the city of San Luis Talpa, La Paz Oeste, and that they hope to generate jobs in the area.

The first stone of the project was placed by representatives of the company along with the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem.

Enerwire’s growth shows the confidence and new opportunities that El Salvador now offers investors, Economy said.

The government said that electrical drivers will be produced from this factory and distributed in the markets of Central America, the Caribbean and the United States.

Enerwire has more than 30 years of presence in the Salvadoran market, the company has been recognized as one of the highest exporters in the country.

The last award was awarded by the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), in July 2024, which classified Enerwire as one of the main industrialists in the electrical manufacturing sector.

Earlier this month, Minec said private investment was around $6.5 billion in 2023, a figure that represented $340 million more than 2022.

According to the government, the first administration of President Nayib Bukele’s government accounted for $5 billion in annual investment on average.

Enerwire is dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of copper, aluminum and bimetallic wires, according to the ASI.
