World Cup veterans Guillermo Ochoa, Raul Jimenez, and Hirving Lozano were left out of Mexico’s Copa America squad announced on Friday.

Together, they have appeared in 10 World Cups, highlighting the significance of their absence from the national team roster.

Ochoa, 38, has been a key figure in Mexico’s last three World Cups, but recent struggles with his club Salernitana and an expiring contract impacted his selection.

Mexico manager Jaime Lozano emphasized that Ochoa remains in the national team’s future plans, but they want to evaluate other players before the 2026 World Cup.

Jimenez, 32, also missed out after limited playing time and no goals so far in 2024 with Fulham.

He has not appeared for Mexico since November and was excluded from the last three call-ups, marking a clear shift in the striker’s international involvement.
