1. On instructions from the Attorney General of the Republic, Johel Antonio Zelaya Álvarez, the Public Prosecutor ' s Office (MP) activates the Specialized Unit against Electoral Crimes (UECDE) and all the necessary mechanisms for the investigation and prosecution of crimes in electoral matters, in accordance with the provisions of the regulations in force.
2. The MP will not tolerate any action against the democratic process of March and November 2025 and, in this regard, will act to ensure that anyone who commits previous unlawful acts, during and post the electoral process and who intends to violate the will of the people, will be investigated, prosecuted and brought to justice.
3. We reiterate to the Honduran population that there will be no impunity for those who commit the purchase of votes, coercion, the falsification of electoral documents, the alteration of results or any other conduct that violates the legitimate right of the people to elect their representatives in a free and transparent manner.
4. UECDE will be based in Tegucigalpa, MDC, but with the presence of prosecutors who will know electoral and related crimes throughout the country.
5. We reaffirm our firm commitment to ensure respect for the law and the electoral process, thus ensuring that democracy prevails in our country.
