Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo has announced a state visit to Taiwan aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in technological development.
He emphasized attracting investment from Taiwan’s high-tech sector to drive Guatemala’s national progress.
Arevalo will meet with President Lai Ching-te and key Taiwanese officials, accompanied by senior Guatemalan ministers.
Meanwhile, a group of Guatemalan students and faculty recently began intensive semiconductor training under a joint Taiwan-Guatemala program to build local expertise.
In August, Guatemala plans to host a conference inviting Taiwanese tech leaders to further cooperation and industry presence in the country.
This move highlights a focused effort to build mutually beneficial partnerships between Guatemala and Taiwan’s technology sectors.
