Michelle Dee of the Philippines has made her arrival in El Salvador for the Miss Universe competition. The actress and model, adorned in a denim ensemble and her Miss Universe Philippines sash, documented her journey’s commencement on social media this Saturday, November 4. The Miss Universe Philippines organization amplified the excitement by sharing a video wherein Dee expresses her eagerness and anticipation for the experiences that await in the pageant.

Having embarked from the Philippines on October 31, Dee had a brief interlude in Los Angeles before proceeding to her final destination. Early indicators suggest Dee is a strong contender, as evidenced by her prominent standing in the pre-pageant fan vote and the “Voice for Change” initiative.

Supporters can participate in the “Voice for Change” voting via the CI Talks website, with options ranging from complimentary single votes to paid tiered voting packages. This voting system allows participation every 12 hours and plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing candidates a semifinal spot based on popular vote.

As the Miss Universe 2023 coronation nears on November 18, anticipation builds, with over 80 delegates expected to compete for the title currently held by USA’s R’Bonney Gabriel. This year’s event marks a new chapter for Miss Universe under the ownership of the JKN Global Group and introduces inclusive changes allowing married women and mothers to vie for the crown.

Dee joins the contest with the aspiration to secure the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe title, following the country’s triumphs in 2015 with Pia Wurtzbach and in 2018 with Catriona Gray.
