Panama will outline its maritime international strategy in meeting with IMO

The administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), Luis Roquebert, will hold a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Domínguez, to address issues related to Panama’s international maritime strategy.

This was detailed by the entity through a statement, in which it details that Roquebert traveled on Saturday, 21 September 2024 to London, to participate, together with senior world authorities, of the IMO plenary meeting.

In addition, you will be present in other activities commemorating World Maritime Day, which this year is celebrated under the motto “Nvigating in the future: security, the first.”

Roquebert, who is a member of Panama’s permanent mission to IMO, will also participate in the second Joint Symposium between the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and IMO on extreme marine weather events.

By Monday, 23 September, the official plans to participate in the inter-period meeting on Climate Change, to be held during the IMO plenary, which will last three days.

According to the AMP, the director plans to visit senior British government executives, owners, managers and ship operators. The agenda includes meetings with federations, shipowners, shipping companies, cruise lines and other industry actors.
