The new Superintendency of Health Regulation will begin functions on Wednesday, August 7, according to the second reform of the new law.

The new Superintendency dissolves the National Directorate of Medicines and absorbs its powers, as well as some from the CSSP, Environmental Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock; and unites the regulation of pharmacists, chemicals, food and beverage, tobacco products, nicotine devices (vapes), agricultural inputs and monitoring of substances, narcotics, psychotropic substances or chemical precursors.
