Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has played his cool refusing to engage in a media war sparked by Brazilian star Neymar.
Neymar has disclosed that Mbappe was jealous of Lionel Messi when he had a stint at PSG.
Rather than fire back at Neymar’s diatribe, Mbappe chose peace and said he had a lot of respect for his former PSG teammate.
Featuring on a podcast hosted by World Cup winner Romário, Neymar made allegations that Kylian Mbappe was “jealous” of Lionel Messi after the Argentine superstar joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.
“We had some good years of partnership, but after Messi came he was a little jealous. He didn’t want to split me with anyone. And then there were some fights, a change in behavior,” Neymar had said.
When his turn came, Mbappe declined to go toe to toe with Neymar.
“The truth is I have nothing to say. I’m very concentrated on what I’m doing here in Madrid,” Mbappe told TNT sports.
“I could talk many times about Neymar, but I want to remember the positives, of a unique footballer in the history of football and all the moments we had in Paris.”
Both Neymar and Mbappe joined PSG in 2017 from Barcelona and AS Monaco, respectively.
Neymar had also said that big egos affected the performances of PSG in big matches.
