After the opening of their bags, the airport authorities discovered the considerable amount of food the artist was trying to bring to the country.

The renowned singer Julio Iglesias was held at the airport of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic due to the contents of the suitcases with which he was traveling, according to the Fiesta de Telecinco program.

Iglesias, from the Bahamas, was intercepted after authorities seized his luggage.

When the bags were opened, the authorities discovered a surprising amount of 42 kilos of food, a revelation that perplexed the collaborators of Telecinco’s program. Among the products were blueberries, lettuce, beans, strawberries, raspberries, rucula, mushrooms and chard.

“I’ve ever eaten a little food,” said presenter Emma Garcia.

The incident occurred when the singer, after his flight from the Bahamas, underwent a security examination, where the unusual amount of food in his luggage was discovered.

Local authorities had to thoroughly inspect the products, considering the presence of a fly in the Dominican Republic affecting agricultural products.

Makoke, who had an affair with Iglesias in the past, revealed that on previous occasions he was taken by Galicia seafood and ham as a sign of affection.

The collaborator expressed surprise at the significant amount of food found in Churches’ suitcases.

The program also speculated about the possibility of Iglesias carrying high-end products or organic foods, given the singer’s known concern for his health.

Despite the initial tension, the singer was able to continue his journey after reviewing the contents of his suitcases. According to Makoke, the President of the Dominican Republic and the country’s Minister of Culture apologized to Iglesias for the “Malenten.”
