A few days after the new Miss Universe 2024 is corn, the controversy surrounding Italy Mora, Miss Panama, and her expulsion from the competition continues to give her what to talk about on social media, where more and more information about the bitter experience she experienced as a beauty queen comes out.
Through a broadcast, Italy Mora shared details of what happened the night before his expulsion from the contest. Accompanied by her boyfriend Juan Abadía, Italy explained that she had left her room (which she shared with Miss Dominican Republic) to go to another, paid for by her boyfriend, where César Anel, director of Miss Universe Panama, was located.
During this meeting, she and Anel had an argument, after which he withdrew visibly upset. About 20 minutes later, someone from the contest came to the room and escorted her back to her assigned room. Following that altercation, the young woman was notified that she should withdraw from Miss Universe competition.
He also revealed his organization’s lack of support and all the money he had to spend to prepare and travel to Mexico City.
After that broadcast, which went viral on social media, the Organización Señorita Panama posted a statement on its Instagram notifying Italy Mora of its title of Miss Universe Panama.
“The Organization of Miss Panama has remained in its position to guarantee the integrity of the candidate, however, in the face of the constant breaches of what was described in the contracts established between the candidate and the national organization, with deep regret we announce the formal dismissal of Miss Italy Mora from her official title of Miss Universe Panama 2024,” the statement said.
He added: “We categorically deny any version that seeks to confuse the public about the reasons for this decision. Before reporting the disqualification, all relevant verifications were carried out to ensure clarity and transparency in the process.”
On the other hand, Italy asked the Miss Universe Organization for a copy of its formal dismissal and the sanctions applied, demanding that its rights be enforced.
“I stand in my position to demand from the Miss Universe International organization a copy of my formal dismissal and the sanctions applied. I am not the first Miss Universe dismissed for exposing the rights that were violated to me and the extortion that we were subjected by national and international organizations,” he revealed.
For its part, the Señora Panama Organization stressed that they will focus on the election of a new Panamanian representative to participate in Miss Universe 2025, “who we trust will fulfill responsibly its commitments,” he concluded.
