Venezuela and Cuba expressed on Thursday their deepest rejection of the new pressure and coercion measures announced the day before by the U.S. government (USA) against Nicaragua.

Through a statement on social network X, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil denounced that the United States imposed unilateral coercive measures against two mining companies operating in Nicaraguan territory, as well as against the Training Center of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia (RTC) located in the city of Managua.

The text states that Washington and its allies are constantly looking for all possible ways to break the fierce anti-imperialist and patriotic will of the Nicaraguan Government.

The sanctions against the government of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega affect dozens of officials and companies, for allegedly attacking human rights and being complicit in the exploitation of migrants.

Among those sanctioned by the State Department are police and paramilitary personnel, prison officials, prosecutors, judges and public higher education officials.

We reject new unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government vs. Nicaragua, which in another interfering attempt seeks to hit strategic sectors of the Nicaraguan economy, damage its people and the legitimate Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also rejected the new sanctions package, which he described as interfering and aimed at affecting the economy of that Central American nation.

Bruno wrote on his account on the social network X, “We reject the new unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government against Nicaragua, which in another interfering attempt seek to hit strategic sectors of the Nicaraguan economy, damage its people and the legitimate Government of Reconciliation and National Unity.

On the other hand, several White House officials reported that they have imposed visa restrictions on more than 250 people, including members of the Nicaraguan government and their families, for whom they support “the attack on the human rights of the Ortega and Murillo regime.”

An international police alert was also issued to inform the aviation industry about the alleged facilities that the Government of Nicaragua gives to people who wish to emigrate illegally.

On the other hand, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department defamed through a statement that RTC is a branch of the Russian Ministry of the Interior based in Nicaragua and trains those under the command of the Ortega-Murillo Government.

With such unilateral measures, no American will be able to conduct transactions with those entities and any assets they have in the United States will be blocked.

Venezuela, through the text, calls on the international community to condemn these retrograde and interfering actions that seek to harm the inalienable and sacred right to free economic activity.

According to Havana and Caracas, the United States Government has been characterized by its double discourse and interfering in the internal affairs of countries, which is why several governments continue to accuse it of having a hypocritical policy and reiterate that it cannot give advice on human rights.
