Elon Musk, owner of X and Tesla, meets with President Nayib Bukele

El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, met Friday with tycoon Elon Musk, according to the president in a brief message on X and confirmed to EFE a spokeswoman for the Presidency.

“It was a pleasure to spend several hours talking to one of the great minds of our time,” Bukele posted on that social network.

Bukele accompanied his message from a short video in which you see moments of the meeting.

The meeting took place at the Gigafactory plant in Austin, Texas, USA, where Tesla cars batteries are manufactured through sustainable technology, according to government information shared to the press on social media.

He indicated that the meeting that lasted more than two hours and that different topics of global interest were addressed.

Minutes after Bukele’s message, Elon Musk posted the following:

“I just had an excellent conversation with the president. We talk a lot about the nature of reality, the future of humanity and how technology like AI and robotics will affect the world.”

The Salvadoran president has shown himself close on social media to the entrepreneur and founder of large companies such as Tesla and Starlink, and also owner of platform X.

Recently, the Patriots for Europe group in the European Parliament announced Thursday that it will nominate Musk for the Sakharov Freedom of Conscience Award, which each year recognizes an exceptional contribution in the field of the defence of human rights.
