The agreement will provide ICT with valuable information to improve its promotional and development strategies in the sector.
The Costa Rican Institute of Tourism (ICT) and Visa signed a collaboration agreement to promote the country’s tourism sector through data-driven intelligence.
The Visa Destination Insights platform, which will be accessed by ICT, provides aggregated and depersonalized information of transactions with Visa credentials, including consumer trends, travel profiles and business characteristics.
This agreement will allow us to strengthen the information and analysis supported by our promotional strategies, said William Rodriguez, Minister of Tourism. The data will complement ICT reports on trends and behavior of international travelers.
Thanks to the data, ICT will be able to better identify target tourists in key markets and adjust their business plans according to the opportunities of each market.
“We believe that the information of Visa Destination Insights will allow ICT strategies to further boost tourism in Costa Rica,” said Roberto González, general manager of Visa Costa Rica.
The agreement strengthens collaboration between public and private sector entities for the benefit of the Costa Rican economy, where tourism contributes 8% of GDP.
