The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) has reported that, due to the improvement of climatic conditions and the return of rivers to its normal channel, it has been decided to reduce the yellow alert to green alert in the provinces of Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro and the Ng-Buglé Region. The new measure came into force from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The rest of the country continues without alert, although SINAPROC maintains constant monitoring as a precaution in various areas.

According to the forecasts of the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama (IMHPA), no atmospheric systems are observed that pose a danger or high risk to the country. Mixed weather is expected, with dry weather periods alternated with isolated rains and electric shocks, typical of the rainy season.

The National Emergency Operations Centre (COEN) and its inter-agency liaisons remain on alert and constantly monitoring of vulnerable areas in the provinces and districts.

People are urged to remain informed through the official channels of SINAPROC and to follow the relevant recommendations to ensure their safety.
