The United States, represented by Deputy Secretary of Commerce Marisa Lago, has committed to assisting El Salvador in its efforts to become a regional tech hub. In a recent meeting with El Salvador’s Minister of Economy María Luisa Hayem, Lago emphasized the importance of a robust digital regulatory environment and a favorable business climate.
Discussions focused on improving cybersecurity to protect networks and data in both the private and government sectors. Lago, during her Central American tour, also plans to visit Costa Rica to promote trade and investment, particularly in the digital economy, cybersecurity, and health technology sectors.
