In a stunning allegation, Irineo Mujica, a U.S. citizen and self proclaimed human rights defender, has accused Latin American nations of exploiting the Biden administration. Leading a caravan of 5,000 migrants toward the U.S. border, Mujica asserts these countries are creating contrived crises to coerce financial aid from Washington D.C.
Speaking with Real America’s Voice, Mujica expressed his shock at how effectively Mexico’s president and other regional leaders are manipulating President Joe Biden. He contends that the White House needs to gain significant insight into the unfolding situation.
Mujica, who openly favored former President Donald Trump’s clear-cut border policies, criticizes President Biden for fumbling the issue, stating that Latin American countries are using the migration as leverage to obtain their desired outcomes from the U.S.
The large migrant caravan, comprising individuals from Central America, Venezuela, Cuba, and Haiti, embarked from Tapachula, a city on Mexico’s southern border, on Monday. Frustrated with protracted processing times for refugee or exit visas, the migrants decided to move without the necessary paperwork, aiming to reach the U.S. border to seek asylum.
Mujica, who is accompanying the migrants, points the finger at Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, accusing him of contributing to the chaos. In his seven decades of human rights advocacy, Mujica claims never to have seen the situation so dire. He alleges that Latin American governments are complicit in the crisis, facilitating the movement of migrants as a strategy to extract U.S. funds.
The journey through the Darien Gap, a notorious jungle passage between Colombia and Panama, highlighted further allegations from Mujica. He accuses Colombian President Gustavo Petro of ignoring the collusion between the government and drug cartels, exploiting the migration for profit.
Mujica’s damning critique extends to the tactics of Latin American governments, which he says “weaponize” migrants, controlling their release to extort money from Washington. He urges the U.S. to withhold financial aid from these countries, denouncing their actions as inhumane and driven by profit at the expense of migrant welfare.
In a direct comparison, Mujica views Biden’s immigration policies as inferior to Trump’s, with Biden losing respect from other nations and failing to curb the flow of migrants effectively.
As the caravan progresses, with police providing escort, the debate over immigration policies and international relations continues to intensify.
