The Attorney General’s Office reported that homeboys and collaborators are among the defendants.

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported on Wednesday that it issued arrest warrants for 81 alleged gang members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS) operating in the municipality of Santa Ana Centro, raided 35 homes and confiscated a vehicle and 32 cell phones.

The FGR did not report in which specific places the gang members operated, but assured that the catches were made in different areas of Santa Ana and that some of the alleged gang members are already being held.

The number of gang members who were already in prison was not specified.

Among those captured, according to the tax information, there are “homeboys” (gang caps) and collaborators of the Clists “South Side Ganster Locos Salvatruchos,” Two Rieles, Montreales, and “Stoner Locos Salvacos” of the Wester program, which operated in Santa Ana Centro.

Among the arrest warrants are also a gang member of Barrio 18, nine alleged common criminals, two of whom were arrested – in flogging, that is, while they were committing a crime.

According to the FGR, they are all attributed to the crimes of illicit groups, swindling, illegal limitation on freedom of movement and extortion.

The FGR also requested to group 474 alleged MS gang members in criminal proceedings of the First Court against Organized Crime of Santa Ana, who are accused of belonging to the clique “Girasoles Locos Salvatruchos” of the Ahuachapán program, all accused of four crimes: illicit groups, threats, illicit trafficking and carrying or illegal driving or irresponsible driving of firearms.
