Assembly has approved 44 decrees, 10 proposed by New Ideas

In addition, decrees have been adopted for the administration of the presidential delegate and the President of the Republic through the ministers.

In two and a half months of the newlegislature 2024-2027the Members of theLegislative Assemblyhave endorsed 44 decrees with laws, reforms, tax breaks and loan-seeking approvals.

Of the 44 decrees approved by legislators, at least 10 have been on the proposal ofMembers of New Ideasaccording to the list of decrees released on the official website of the Legislative Assembly. Some of the initiatives of government lawmakers have been tax breaks, bill returns and others.

There are other initiatives that have been approved because they have been sent through ministers by thePresidential delegate, Claudia Juana de Guevaraand for thePresident of the Republic, Nayib Bukelesince he took office on 1 June 2024.

At least 10 initiatives proposed by New Ideas Members are:

  1. Decree of Installation of the Legislative Assembly in its new formation for the legislative period 2024-2027.
  2. Reforms to the rules of procedure of the Legislative Assembly to reduce the number of commissions.
  3. Exemption of taxes to the Catholic church for an activity.
  4. Exemption of taxes to the Ministry of Diaspora and Human Mobility for an activity.
  5. Exemption of taxes to the association Agape for an activity.
  6. Declaration of the national rest on 1 June.
  7. Authorization of the flight of a German ship.
  8. Adoption of the Commission’s Compensation Act for Workers of the Ministry of Culture.
  9. Amendments to the Women’s Development Institute Act.
  10. Statement as president of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) to -scar López Jerez.

There are three decrees that are not published on the Assembly’s website: decrees 30, 32 and 42.

In addition, there are decrees approved at the initiative of thePresidential delegate, Claudia Juana de Guevara, who proposed tax exemptions, amendments to the Budget Act 2024, authorizations to seek. credits, reforms to the Judicial Law, extension to the stability of the prices of liquefied gas and others.

The Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, since assuming his second term in the presidency of the Republic, has promoted reforms to the Budget Law 2024, reforms to the Law on Holidays and Assass of Public Employees, declaration of rest for June 18 due to the emergency of rains, incorporations of funds, extension of the emergency regime and others.

Under current legislation, ministers and all deputies of the Legislative Assembly have a bill. The president has no bills but can promote legislation through his ministers.
