Argentine leader Javier Milei faced strong criticism from Bolivia after his recent statements alongside US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Milei attacked Bolivia’s socialist economic model, claiming it is deteriorating and ineffective, while ignoring the country’s progress in social justice and economic surpluses.
Bolivia’s Foreign Ministry responded by condemning Milei’s remarks as intrusive and misleading, emphasizing that their elected model prioritizes wealth distribution and dignity for the majority.
Tensions between the two countries have also been fueled by new Argentinian policies affecting Bolivians, worsening an already strained relationship.
Bolivian social leader Adalberto Ticona accused Milei of undermining Bolivia’s sovereignty and dignity.
The government insists that respectful dialogue and acknowledgment of sovereign choices are necessary for regional relations, rejecting confrontational rhetoric as damaging.
