Guatemala’s largest bank, Banco Industrial, fully integrates SukuPay into Zigi app for fast, low-cost U.S. remittances
Banco Industrial, Guatemala’s largest bank, has integrated SukuPay into its mobile app Zigi to enable real-time, low-cost remittances from the U.S.

This is the first instance of a crypto payment protocol embedded at this level within a major Latin American retail bank’s consumer app.

Users continue to interact with the familiar Zigi interface while benefiting from stablecoin technology that speeds up transactions and reduces fees.

Guatemala receives over $21 billion in remittances annually, making it the second-largest recipient in Latin America after Mexico.

Traditional remittance systems remain slow and expensive, creating challenges for many users.

SukuPay offers a blockchain-based solution that simplifies the process without requiring users to engage directly with crypto technology.

By partnering with SukuPay, Banco Industrial avoids building a proprietary system and gains compliant, scalable infrastructure with minimal impact on existing operations.

This move allows the bank to provide advanced financial services to millions while improving the efficiency of cross-border payments.
