Costa Rica has positioned itself as the world’s leading exporter of pineapple and pineapple juice, according to data from Trade Map of the International Trade Centre (ITC).

In the January-August period of 2024, exports of goods reached $12.958 million, with growth of 7% year-on-year. The medical, agricultural and food supply sectors experienced increases of 12%, 7% and 5%, respectively.
Currently, the Costa Rican export sector comprises 2,400 companies that ship its products to 168 destinations with 4,400 products.
