Nicaragua begins construction of new international airport

The reconstruction, expansion and improvement of Punta Huete International Airport in Nicaragua began officially here today, and once the works are finished you will be able to receive 3.5 million travelers a year.

According to the head of the MTI, the standards and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization for the construction and operation of airports will be met, taking into account the current development trend.

The project, which includes among other actions the construction of a new control tower and direct access to the airport of 13 kilometers in four lanes, will provide direct jobs to 3,250 Nicaraguans.
