Honduras is moving quickly into FTA negotiations with China, completing 50 percent in six months. The treaty is expected to be signed by June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government of Honduras<\/strong> reported that it has negotiated<\/strong> 50% of the Free Trade Agreement<\/strong><\/a> (FTA) with China<\/strong><\/a>, a process that is expected to be completed by June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister of Economic Development, Fredis Cerrato<\/a>, indicated that three stages of negotiation have already been carried out and the process is progressing significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It has progressed quickly and it must be said that we have been negotiating for six months, we have already developed three stages and managed to complete 12 of the 22 components of the treaty,” the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cerrato added that the fourth round of negotiations will take place in February and there will be meetings via Zoom to move forward and we hope that the document will be signed in the middle of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
