The 26-year-old is accused by authorities of taking the life of an American resident in 2016.

The arrest took place on December 12 in Hyattsville, Maryland state. According to the authorities, the catracho already had a history, first because in 2014, when he was still a minor, he entered the country illegally.

On that occasion he was allowed in because his father received him in the United States.

Then, in 2015, Prince George’s County charged him with assault and in August 2016 was charged with concealing a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. That same year, the young man would have taken a resident’s life.

He is now under arrest and will remain until he is deported, according to the authorities, who called him “a threat.” The authorities point to the Honduran, whose identity they did not reveal, as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13).

“Not only is he a member of a violent street gang, but he has also proven to be a serious threat to everyone by killing a resident,” said Darius Reeve, acting director of the Office of Execution and Deport Operations (ERO).

The officer also pointed out that all undocumented “violent criminals” should be deported without exception.
