China strongly opposes U.S. interference in Cuba’s internal affairs under the pretext of fighting terrorism, as well as its political repression and economic sanctions against Cuba, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mao made the statements at a regular press conference in response to a question from the media. Not long ago, the United States Government removed Cuba from the list of countries that do not cooperate fully against terrorism, but it continues to designate it as a sponsoring State of terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mao indicated that, as Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodr\u00edguez Parrilla pointed out, the United States has just admitted what everyone knows, that Cuba cooperates fully in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spokeswoman said China commends Cuba for its effort to fight terrorism and strongly opposes U.S. interference in Cuba’s internal affairs under the pretext of fighting terrorism and its political repression and economic sanctions against Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China calls on the United States to manage its relations with Cuba in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and the rules governing international relations, Mao said, adding that the United States must lift all its embargo and sanctions against Cuba, properly resolve disputes and differences through dialogue and negotiation, as well as contribute to improving relations between the United States and Cuba and maintaining the peaceful and stable continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
