Brazilian soccer player Neymar suffered a serious injury during the 2024 season while playing for Paris St Germain. The injury, a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus, required surgery and a lengthy recovery process. Rodrigo Lasmar, the national team doctor, oversaw Neymar’s recovery and ensured that he underwent successful knee surgery. Despite the injury, Neymar was expected to return to high-level soccer in time for the Copa America tournament<\/a>, which was scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 14, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neymar’s injury was a setback for the Brazilian national team<\/a>, as he was one of their key players. However, Lasmar was confident that Neymar would make a full recovery in time for the tournament. The recovery process involved a combination of physical therapy and rest, as well as monitoring Neymar’s progress to ensure that he did not suffer any setbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The injury was not the first time that Neymar had undergone knee surgery, as he had previously undergone knee ligament surgeries in 2014 and 2018. However, Lasmar was optimistic that Neymar would be able to recover fully from the injury and return to his previous level of performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the lead up to the Copa America tournament, Neymar’s recovery was closely followed by the media and fans alike. Brazilian radio station Rede 98 provided regular updates on his progress, with Lasmar providing updates on his condition and the recovery process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the injury, Neymar’s presence on the Brazilian national team was still highly valued, and he was expected to play a key role in their success at the Copa America tournament.
