The International Surf Association (ISA) announced on Tuesday that the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship<\/strong> (WJSC) 2024 will be held in El Salvador, from 3 to 12 May, in the waves of La Bocana and El Sunzal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 20th edition of the championship will be the second time El Salvador has received the best junior surfers in the world, following the event held in 2022. That edition was won by Hawaii’s Luke Swanson<\/strong> in the men’s Under-18 division, Willis Droomer<\/strong> of Australia in Sub-16, Hawaii’s Eweleiula Wong<\/strong> in the Under-18 women’s category and Erin Brooks<\/strong> of Canada in the Under-16s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the data shared by the ISA in its press release, 33 of Tokyo 2020’s 40 Olympic surfers previously participated in the WJSC, demonstrating that this prestigious event is a direct path to the Olympic Games, with 16 of them winning ISA Junior World Medals, including Olympic bronze medallist Owen Wright (AUS)<\/strong> and the current World Surfing League (WSL) World Champion Caroline Marks<\/strong> of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
