In recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, numerous activist groups across Latin America are gearing up for a series of marches and events. This day, earmarked to raise awareness about violence against women, will see its significant observance in various Latin American capitals through both marches and educational activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key demonstrations are anticipated in multiple cities. In Asuncion, Paraguay, the Plaza Uruguaya will become a focal point for the march beginning at 18:00. Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, will witness a march from the TV Tower to the Juscelino Kubitschek Memorial, starting at 08:00. Buenos Aires in Argentina is set to host its march at the Plaza del Congreso from 16:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other notable locations include La Paz, Bolivia, where participants will gather at the Centro de Promocion de la Mujer Gregoria Apaza at 09:30 before marching across the city. Uruguay’s Montevideo is preparing for a gathering at Plaza Libertad from 17:00, which will then proceed to Plaza Independencia from 18:00. Panama City’s Parque Porras will host participants from 15:30, and Recife, Brazil, will see its activities commence at Marco Zero from 15:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These marches follow the precedent set in previous years, with similar events having taken place in Caracas, Venezuela, Guatemala City, Guatemala, and other capitals. While these demonstrations are expected to be peaceful, local disruptions and enhanced security measures are anticipated in the vicinity of the marches.
